Christine Karsten is a reporter and host for Better Kansas City. Better Kansas City is an entertainment, community and lifestyle show that airs between 9-10AM on KCTV 5, Kansas City's CBS affiliate station. Christine is extremely hands-on. She goes into the community everyday to tryout new and or unique things that are happening in the area. Two days a week she presents those stories on Better KC and continues as a co-host. The rest of the week she is out live.

Christine is constantly using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to connect with her audience, promote her story and promote Better Kansas City.

Prior to calling Kansas City home, Christine was a morning anchor and reporter for WNDU-TV, South Bend, Indiana’s NBC affiliate station. She spent her time anchoring and reporting for 16 Morning News Monday through Thursday. She covered anything from breaking news to community events. She also spent her Sunday morning anchoring WNDU’s 1-hour 16 Sunday Morning show.

Christine graduated from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism in December 2012 with a degree in Radio-Television News.

While she was there, Christine worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for KOMU 8 News, Columbia, Missouri’s NBC affiliate station. Christine also worked as a writer for Newsy.com. There, she analyzed the way each media outlet covered the news and then told a well-rounded story using the coverage from each. Here Christine learned the importance of finding her own voice to create her own niche as a storyteller.
